Abdulhakim Binherz joined as a Distinguished Judge in “TILA International Moot Court Competition on Energy Laws” (TIMCCE-II)

I was invited to be a Judge in “TILA International Moot Court Competition on Energy Laws” (TIMCCE-II) held on 12th and 13th October 2019 at Banastali University Jaipur, Rajasthan, INDIA.

The “TILA International Moot Court Competition on Energy Laws” (TIMCCE-II) allows participants Student of law who came from diverse background in terms of language, religion and nationality to compete with each other in English language via Oral and written submission and be prepared to answer judges questions around the subject case on energy law and at the end to get feedback regarding their strengths and weaknesses in order to develop practical legal skill sets such as oral advocacy and written legal argument that can have positive impacts on their future career.

The main responsibility as a judge are:

  • Score each member based on legal arguments expressed by them during their pleading and fill out the scoresheet in full
  • Review and consult with the other judges in order to provide constructive feedback regarding the strengths and weaknesses of the team’s arguments and oral presentations; and
  • To provide the Moot Court administrators with the Oral Round Scoresheet I hand after the oral round is finished

In my opinion, all the student who participated in the competition are winners although at the end we must choose the most compatible team to announce them as the winners of this competition
